Building great systems is like putting together a puzzle, with each piece and pawn moving together in unison. We know that one day, we will look back at all of this work and marvel at how we were able to accomplish so much. For us, the answer is simple: hope is the great motivator. We believe that the systems we build will endure the test of time and become ingrained in the way things are done – the right way, the simple way.
Of course, we also recognize that there are practicalities and needs that must be met. As developers, it is our responsibility to lay down the road on which our people will walk, to place each brick with purpose and to take each step with care. Only then will the path be smooth and well-traveled.
Breaking down the barriers of doubt, greed, and desperation requires patience and perseverance. We must walk calmly and steadily towards what is good and, when unsure, pause, take a deep breath, and continue. Let us keep our eyes on the horizon, and together, we can create something truly great.
